At The Quirky Teapot, we’re proud to have Debbie Glover at the helm of our kitchen. With nearly three decades of experience, Debbie's culinary journey is both rich and unique. From her roots in a medical family to running her own businesses, Debbie brings a wealth of passion and expertise to every dish she creates.
Debbie Glover's Bio
"I’ve been cooking professionally for nearly thirty years, though my background wasn’t always in hospitality. In fact, I come from a very medical household. My mother was a nurse, my father was Chief Health Inspector for The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, one sister became a care worker, and the other is now a GP. So how did I end up in a kitchen instead of a clinic? Well – hospital vs hospitality – I left dental nursing behind and followed my heart into food.
My second husband came from a true cheffing family: he, his brother, and their father were all chefs, and his mother ran the bars in their restaurants across the globe. Together, we ran our own businesses both here on the Isle of Wight and on the mainland.
Years ago, a bright young woman named Natalie worked for me while she was at college. Now the roles have reversed—and I couldn’t be happier working for her at The Teapot. We may be a bit quirky, but we’re passionate about what we do and always aim to exceed expectations with our food and drink.
When I’m not dishing up fabulous food, you’ll find me singing in a shanty band, scribbling away at poems and short stories, or working on my next novel – I’ve just finished my first."
We Have To Mention The Cakes!
Of course, we're all very grateful to have Debbie leading in the kitchen – but never more so than when a new cake comes out onto the counter. Honestly, we have to tell you that these cakes are special – very special.
